Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has demanded that the political action committee “Haley Voters for Harris” cease using her name. The group, formerly known as “Haley Voters for Biden,” shifted its focus to supporting Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden endorsed her. Haley, a rival of Trump during the GOP primaries, recently endorsed him at the Republican National Convention. In her speech, Haley emphasized her differences with Harris, highlighting her support for Trump’s vision to make America “strong, safe, and prosperous.”
Haley’s legal team issued a cease-and-desist letter, stating that any use of her name implying support for Harris is “deceptive and wrong.” The letter also warned of potential legal actions if the group continues fundraising under the misleading name.
The group clarified on social media that it never claimed to represent Haley and is targeting voters who oppose Trump. They criticized Trump for not earning their votes and deriding Haley while picking J.D. Vance as his running mate.
In her GOP convention speech, Haley stressed the stark contrast between her policies and Harris’s, particularly criticizing Harris’s handling of the southern border crisis.
In a statement to Fox News, Haley said of her and Kamala, “we are total opposites on every issue. Any attempt to use my name to support her or her agenda is deceptive and wrong.”
