Undocumented Immigrant Arrested in Wisconsin for Child Sexual Assault Amid Rising Illegal Immigration

A 33-year-old undocumented immigrant in Wisconsin has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a child under 12 years old. The man, known to the victim’s family, is facing two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. According to reports, the assaults occurred multiple times.

The suspect is currently held on a $30,000 bond. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported that Homeland Security has placed an immigration detainer on the man, indicating federal interest due to his immigration status, according to News 9.

This case has raised concerns among the local community, highlighting ongoing issues related to undocumented immigrants and crime. More than 20,000 people living in Wisconsin have immigration cases pending that could result in deportation.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, there were over 1.7 million encounters with illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year 2021, a significant increase from the approximately 458,000 encounters in 2020. In fiscal year 2022, encounters exceeded 2 million, reflecting the ongoing challenges in managing border security and immigration policies.
