Heritage Foundation Launches Independent Investigation into Trump Assassination Attempt
Oversight Project Uncovers Key Connections Using Mobile Ad Data, Highlights Potential Security Lapses.
Published July 24, 2024

The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project has launched an independent investigation into the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump by Thomas Crooks. This initiative arises amid growing concerns about the involvement and efficiency of federal agencies in addressing the security threats faced by high-profile political figures.

The Heritage Foundation, known for its conservative stance and advocacy for government transparency, has undertaken this investigation to ensure a thorough and unbiased examination of the circumstances surrounding the assassination attempt. The Foundation aims to uncover any overlooked connections and potential security lapses that might have facilitated the plot against Trump.

Key Findings so far:

The investigation relies heavily on in-depth analysis of mobile ad data to track movements of Crooks and his associates, tracking devices that regular visited both Crooks home and place of work. The findings revealed several significant insights. Please see here for a more detailed analysis with corresponding mapping data

1. Tracking Crooks and Associates: The Oversight Project tracked devices frequently visiting both Crooks’ home and workplace. This method allowed them to map out a network of individuals connected to Crooks.

2. Gallery Place Connection: One device, identified as frequently visiting Crooks’ home and work, also visited a building in Washington, DC, located in Gallery Place. This location is in the vicinity of an FBI office, which was visited on June 26, 2023.

3. Movements to Key Locations:

    – Another device linked to Crooks visited Plymouth, MA.

    – A device associated with Crooks’ workplace traveled to Butler, PA, on July 4th and July 8th, with activity ceasing on July 12th.

    – On August 30, 2023, a device linked to Crooks was detected at Allegheny Arms.

4. Bethel Park, PA Network: Several locations within Bethel Park, PA, were identified as being connected to both Crooks’ home and workplace. Over the past year, at least nine devices were linked to these locations through their AD-IDs.

The Heritage Foundation has expressed its willingness to cooperate with legitimate investigations and share their findings. However, they have decided against sharing further information with the congressional task force due to potential conflicts of interest with entities like the FBI and US Secret Service.

Congressman James Comer, Republican, asked the now-resigned Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle, “Have the investigators reconstructed the shooter’s precise movements over the past days, weeks, and months?” Chelate responded with a vague non-answer and pivoted to future findings of an investigation.

To further their investigation, the Oversight Project is seeking additional information, leads, and tips from the public. Those with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Heritage Foundation directly via email at tips.oversightproject@heritage.org.
