At the end of the Harris campaign in 2024, they tasked Doug Emhoff with securing Taylor Swift for one of her final rallies. He was unsuccessful in getting the appearance according to a new book.

There were rumors around the rally that the popular Pennsylvania native would at minimum make an appearance at the Vice-President’s final rally in Philadelphia. However, Swift rejected Emhoff’s invitation to attend and refused to do anything more than endorse the party.

Staffers were told that former LA entertainment lawyer Doug Emhoff was in charge of securing her act across the campaign. Emhoff has a relationship with Doug Baldridge, Swift’s attorney. Emhoff wanted, “to convey that the campaign would appreciate any efforts the pop star could make to help Harris,” said the book, 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America

Swift came out with a surprise endorsement after the debate. “Swift would do what Swift thought was best,” was Baldridge’s response. No other support materialized after the endorsement, says the book. (RELATED: British Rap Group Loses U.S. Visa After Anti-Semitic Comments)
