Amelia Bonow, a progressive activist best known as the co-founder of the “Shout Your Abortion” movement, released a controversial new book aimed at young children called “Abortion is Everything.”

Bonow, a prominent figure in pro-chocie advocacy, has long built her platform on abortion through public storytelling. Her latest project has started debate across the political spectrum, with people arguing that the book’s themes are beyond what is appropriate for young readers.

The decision to target children ages five through eight with a book about abortion raises concerns about age appropriateness and a child’s understanding of life, death, and morals. The portrayal of abortion in child-friendly form as empowerment, risks simplifying the ethical, biological and emotional consequences of abortion. According to Live Action, Bonow openly states the book is intended to teach children that abortion is something to celebrate, not question. Social media posts promoting the book describe the ability to have an abortion as a “super-power,” side stepping the idea of the ending a viable pregnancy.

Commenters on the post excitement over the idea of introducing young children to abortion themed messaging. One supporter wrote, “Love it. I’ve been speaking to my kids about abortion since they were small and it is so empowering to hear a child say: ‘You don’t have to be pregnant if you don’t want to be.’”

Bonow has previously targeted children in the past about abortions, including an event back in 2018. Her segment on the Kid’s Meet program was filled with anti-science and pro-abortion talking points and includes Bonow bragging about her own abortion to the young boys and girls.

“I don’t call them pro-life; I call [them] anti-choice, because who would disagree with that statement? Being pro-life? … To me, the phrase ‘pro-life’ is propaganda, because often the people that say that don’t want to take care of people who have babies that they can’t afford and then are totally poor. … They want to deprive people [of] access to healthcare,” she said according to The Daily Wire.

The book officially published in September, is not yet released to the public but is taking preorders and could be seen in libraries and homes as early as December. (RELATED: Wisconsin Weighs Sandhill Crane Hunt as Farmers, Wildlife Advocates Clash)
