A 64-year-old Milwaukee man, David Boyd, faces charges of sexually assaulting, trafficking, and torturing three young girls in a basement for years. It is a case that has shocked Wisconsin authorities.

According to court documents filed Saturday, Boyd allegedly subjected the victims—two sisters and their cousin—to years of abuse in a grim basement, beginning as early as 2015.

The youngest victim, abused since age 8 in 2020, told investigators Boyd “routinely” cut her with a knife and trafficked her to other men. When his girlfriend, a friend of the girls’ mother, was away, Boyd allegedly chained the child to a pole in a basement lit by a single bulb, with chains dangling from beams, according to the New York Post

She survived on a piece of bread and water from a puddle in the floor’s dip, authorities said. She reported being assaulted “too many times to count.”

The older sister and cousin, occasional visitors to the home, also alleged repeated sexual assaults by Boyd. The cousin endured abuse until she resisted, after which Boyd targeted the older sister from age 5 until she moved away at 12 in 2022.

The investigation began in January when a foster parent alerted police, leading to a search of Boyd’s home on April 16. Photos revealed the basement’s harrowing conditions.

Boyd denied the allegations, claiming the victims were “jealous that he was a father to his daughter but not to them.”

When shown a drawing of the basement, he reportedly panicked, saying he needed the bathroom to avoid urinating.

Boyd faces charges including sexual assault of a child, physical abuse with a dangerous weapon, child trafficking, and false imprisonment.

He is held on $100,000 bail.
